A metal powder mill can prepare powder from selected suitable feedstocks. Powder-metallurgy suitability cannot be determined from the metal name or mesh value alone.
Define powder acceptance criteria
Specify composition, particle-size distribution, particle shape, purity, contamination and the requirements of forming, sintering or other downstream stages. Producing a powder does not establish that it meets a particular powder-metallurgy specification.
Confirm the feed form
Check granules, chips or flakes against the selected model’s size and feed-condition requirements. Do not assume that arbitrary metal blocks or ores can be fed directly. Assess each proposed metal or alloy through composition checks and trials rather than promising all metals or every particle-shape target.
Validate samples with the downstream process
Check samples after milling, screening and collection before downstream testing. For TYJSMF500, use the model range of 20–325 mesh and 50–500 kg/h, then determine the working conditions for the actual feedstock and powder target.
