Drum Wood Chipper
The drum wood chipper continuously processes logs, branches and suitable wood feedstock. Feeding, conveying and downstream connections are configured for the required chip size and capacity.

Product OverviewEquipment application and scope
The drum-type wood chipper is a type of wood chipper and a specialized piece of equipment for producing wood chips. This machine is widely used as a pre-screening device in the feedstock preparation stage of industrial and manufacturing facilities such as particleboard plants, medium- and high-density fiberboard plants, straw processing plants, biomass power plants, and wood chip plants.
Features of the Drum-Type Wood Chipper:
1. It features an advanced design, produces high-quality cut sheets, accommodates a wide range of raw materials, and is easy to operate and maintain. The machine consists of a base, a cutting roller, upper and lower feed rollers, a conveyor belt, a hydraulic system, and other components.
2. Hydraulic System of the Drum-Type Wood Chipper: A manual oil pump supplies oil to the hydraulic cylinder, which can be used to open the housing for easy blade replacement. During maintenance, the upper feed roller assembly can be raised to facilitate adjustment of the clearance between the flying knives and the bottom knife, as well as the installation and removal of the comb plate.
3. The drum-type wood chipper base is welded from high-gauge steel plates and supports the entire machine. Two flying knives are mounted on the cutting roller and secured with specially manufactured flying knife bolts and pressure blocks; Depending on the thickness of the raw material being cut, the upper feed roller assembly can float up and down within a certain range via a hydraulic system; qualified chips fall through the mesh screen and are discharged from the bottom, while larger chips continue to be crushed inside the machine.

Working Principle & ComponentsProcess and construction
The material is conveyed by the feed conveyor to the feed rollers, which then feed it into the main unit of the drum-type chipper for chipping.
The finished sheets are transported via the bottom conveyor to the discharge conveyor and then to the finished product pile.
Working Principle
- 1
Feed Conveying
The material is conveyed to the feed rollers via a feed conveyor.
- 2
Forced Feeding
The feed rollers feed the material into the main unit of the drum-type chipper.
- 3
Slices
The material is sliced by the main unit of the slicer.
- 4
Finished Product Conveyance
Convey the finished product to the finished goods pile
